I may be wrong, but the last part seems to suggest Anne will no longer be a shareholder?
According to the FT report, Starling staff and management will own 20 percent of the bank following the new funding. Merian and JTC control the rest.
Unless she counts as the employees, but even then, thats 20% shared between them all.
I wouldn’t like a CEO with no shareholding’s in the company. No incentive for Anne to run the bank to the best of her abilities unless she’s got a stake at its success.
I’d say every incentive - she built it !
Perhaps she isn’t included in that stat? Or is taking a smaller cut.
Are they buying shares to give to employees or are they generating new shares for that 20%?
